• VWW: Feminist Walk for men, by men

Come and explore Brigittenau like nobody ever has before. Two men show you a female dynamic, and 21st century politics. Vienna is a pioneer city in gender-mainstreaming and progressive social attitudes, and we want to bring this to life in a walk of one of Vienna’s less-visited – and therefore cooler – quarters.

Your guide Persy (Bulayumi) – from Kagran – will look at how migration, ethnicity and representation play into feminism and women’s experience of living in Vienna. Your guide Eugene (Quinn) – London – finds that the soul of Wien is deeply feminine, and he wants to celebrate the liberation available to men who embrace their full personality, including the freedom to explore less binary roles and responsibilities.

Women are of course welcome on the walk, but our focus is on opening up feminist ideas for the other half of the population, who may be less familiar with this topic. The future is female, and women’s issues do not just affect women.

This walk is part of Vienna Walking Week, when space and place is demonstrating that you do not need to leave the city to experience the exotic, the sexy and the new. #TourismForLocals
